LightLoop has two layers of scheduling: date-windowed playlists for seasonal content and timed broadcasts for exact time-of-day control.

Date windows (show/hide by date)

Every playlist in a feed can have a start date and end date. Outside those dates the playlist is invisible in the feed — it won’t appear on Apple TV. When to use:
  • Christmas content that should appear Dec 1 and disappear Jan 1
  • A special event playlist for a single weekend
  • Summer series content that runs June through August
How to set it:
  1. Open the Feeds tab and select your feed
  2. Find the playlist in the feed and click the schedule icon next to it
  3. Set a Start date and/or End date
  4. Save
You can add a playlist to a feed now and set a future start date so it’s ready to go the moment the date arrives — no last-minute scramble.

Timed broadcasts (exact time control)

Timed broadcasts let a specific playlist take over a feed at an exact time — automatically, with no one touching anything. When to use:
  • Switch from a pre-service loop to a live worship countdown at 9:55 AM every Sunday
  • Show a “Service starting soon” screen 10 minutes before each service
  • Run a one-time announcement at a specific event

Creating a timed broadcast

  1. Open the Feeds tab and select your feed
  2. Click Add Scheduled Broadcast
  3. Configure the schedule:
FieldDescription
PlaylistWhich playlist to show
Target feedWhich feed to broadcast to
Start timeTime of day (in your account timezone)
DurationHow long this playlist plays before reverting to the normal feed
RecurrenceOne-time or weekly
Day of week(Weekly only) Which day(s) to run
Start dateWhen to begin this schedule
End date(Optional) When to stop

How it works on Apple TV

When a timed broadcast is active:
  1. The Apple TV receives a WebSocket push (or detects the broadcast at its next poll)
  2. The current playlist smoothly transitions to the scheduled playlist
  3. After the broadcast duration expires, the feed reverts to its normal playlist order
  4. No one needs to touch the Apple TV or the dashboard

Viewing and editing broadcasts

All scheduled broadcasts for a feed appear under the Scheduled tab within the feed editor. You can edit or delete any broadcast from there.

Combining both methods

You can use date windows and timed broadcasts together. For example:
  • Add your Christmas playlist to the feed with a date window of Dec 1 – Jan 1 (it appears automatically in the grid)
  • Add a Christmas service countdown as a timed broadcast for 10 AM on Dec 24 and Dec 25
The two systems work independently and don’t interfere with each other.

Timezone

All scheduled times use the timezone set in your account settings. Make sure your timezone is correct, especially when your server and your building are in different regions. To check or update your timezone:
  1. Click your profile picture → Settings
  2. Find the Timezone field and update it
