# Kidddo

> Instant Welcome Party greetings triggered the moment a child scans in with Kidddo.

Kidddo is a children's ministry check-in system that integrates with LightLoop for near-instant Welcome Party greetings. Unlike the [Planning Center integration](/integrations/planning-center#welcome-party) which polls for new arrivals, Kidddo pushes a webhook to LightLoop the moment a child scans — so the greeting appears on screen within a second.

## How Kidddo Welcome Party works

1. A child scans their badge or tag at the Kidddo check-in station
2. Kidddo sends a webhook to LightLoop instantly
3. LightLoop pushes the greeting to subscribed Apple TVs over WebSocket
4. The Welcome Party overlay appears on screen immediately
5. The overlay auto-dismisses after the configured duration

## Setting up Kidddo Welcome Party

### Step 1 — Create a Welcome Party item

1. In the Media library, click **Add Monitor → Welcome Party**
2. Select **Kidddo** as the source
3. Configure the display:

| Setting | Description |
| -------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Welcome message** | Custom text shown under the child's name (e.g., "So glad you're here!") |
| **Display duration** | Seconds before the overlay auto-dismisses |
| **Sound effect** | Bells, Cheer, Celebration, Fanfare, or None |

4. Save the item

### Step 2 — Get your webhook URL

After saving the Welcome Party item, LightLoop displays a **webhook URL**. Copy this URL.

### Step 3 — Configure the webhook in Kidddo

1. Log in to your Kidddo admin panel
2. Navigate to **Settings > Use Label Printers > Printer Name**
3. Paste the LightLoop URL in the Webhook URL field
4. If the **Remote Printer Name** field cannot be empty, if you're not using a printer simply enter any value in that field to activate the Webhook.
5. Test the trigger by clicking the **Print Test Label** button

Kidddo will now send a POST request to LightLoop whenever a child checks in, including the child's name and photo.

### Step 4 — Add to a Feed

Configure a Welcome Party on any feed. It activates as an overlay — it doesn't replace the normal content, it appears on top.

## What appears on screen

The overlay shows:

* The child's **photo** (from Kidddo)
* A large **"Welcome, \[Name]!"** heading
* Your custom **welcome message**
* An custom background gradient or color
* The configured **sound effect** plays once

## Testing the integration

To test without a real check-in:

1. In the Welcome Party item detail panel, click **Send Test Greeting**
2. Enter a test name and optionally a photo URL
3. Click **Send** — the overlay should appear on any connected Apple TVs within a second

## Kidddo vs. Planning Center

| Feature | Kidddo | Planning Center |
| ------------------------- | -------------- | --------------- |
| Trigger method | Webhook (push) | Polling (pull) |
| Delay from scan to screen | \~1 second | 3–10 seconds |
| Requires PCO account | No | Yes |
| Photo support | Yes | Yes |

Use Kidddo if your organization uses Kidddo for check-in. Use Planning Center if you use PCO Check-In. Both produce the same on-screen experience — Kidddo is just faster.
