# Quick Start

> Create your account, upload your first media, and get it playing on a screen in under 10 minutes.

## Step 1 — Sign in with Google

Go to [lightloop.app](https://lightloop.app) and click **Sign in with Google**.

LightLoop requests only `drive.file` scope — it can only see files it creates, never your personal Google Drive files.

## Step 2 — Choose your Google Drive folder

After signing in, LightLoop asks where to store your media files. You can:

* **Create a new folder** — recommended; LightLoop creates a `LightLoop Media` folder in your Drive
* **Choose an existing folder** — pick any folder you already use for media assets

<Info>
  Nonprofits using Google Workspace for Nonprofits have 100 TB of free storage. Personal Google accounts include 15 GB.
</Info>

## Step 3 — Upload your first media

From the **Media** tab, click **Upload** (or drag files directly onto the page).

LightLoop supports:

* **Videos** — MP4, MOV, and most common formats
* **Images** — JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP
* **Audio** — MP3, M4A, AAC (for background soundtracks)

Files upload directly to your Google Drive. A thumbnail is generated automatically.

## Step 4 — Create a playlist

1. Click the **Playlists** tab
2. Click **New Playlist**
3. Give it a name (e.g., "Pre-Service Loop")
4. Click **Add Items** and select the media you just uploaded
5. Drag items to reorder them

## Step 5 — Create a feed and add your playlist

A **feed** is what your Apple TV subscribes to. One feed can contain multiple playlists.

1. Click the **Feeds** tab
2. Click **New Feed**
3. Give it a name (e.g., "Main Lobby")
4. Note the **Feed ID** — a 6-character code like `AB12CD`
5. Click **Add Playlist** and select your playlist

<Tip>
  Your Feed ID is what you'll type into the Apple TV app. Write it down or keep this tab open.
</Tip>

## Step 6 — Connect your Apple TV

Open the **LightLoop app** on your Apple TV. You'll see the setup screen:

1. Enter your **server URL** (shown on the Feeds page in the dashboard)
2. Enter your **6-character Feed ID**
3. Press **Connect**

The Apple TV starts downloading your media immediately. Once the download completes, playback begins automatically.

## You're live

Your content is now playing on screen. Any changes you make in the dashboard — adding items, reordering, hiding — sync to the Apple TV in real time.
